March brings the first session of our Prepared Mommy Camp! The Camp is open to pregnant mothers and new mothers under age 23 and seeks to build a community of support as we learn and share experiences about all things pregnancy, birth, and baby. More info on volunteer and donation needs below. We are excited to start this new chapter in our community programming in addition to continuing our regular monthly offerings.

March Meeting: Infant Eye Care
Wednesday, March 28th
7 pm at the Athens Library
Kelly Moser, O.D. will talk about Infantsee which is a public health program that allows free eye exam for infants between the ages of 6 and 12 months old. It is recommended all children have their first eye exam at that age. She will discuss what to expect when coming in for an eye exam with an infant or older child.
Our sponsor for this month’s meeting is:
Brooke Warga, Wink Naturals
www.winknaturals.com/winkwithwarga
Wink Naturals’ goal is to impact and strengthen families by offering products that make family life easier in a safe way. I am one of about 200 (and growing) founding distributors and got involved recently after using the all natural products on my kids for 2+ years with wonderful results. Imagine sleeping after over two years of sleepless nights! Wink has honestly changed my life for the better, and now I am sharing with others to help change theirs too.
Loss Support Group

MEALS FOR FAMILIES (formerly Meals For Moms)
Let The Birth Circle community cook for you! If you’ve just had a baby, if you are going through another type of transition in your family, or have experienced a loss, The Birth Circle is more than happy to organize a meal calendar to help support you. If you are interested in receiving meals, providing meals or both, please contact our Meals For Families Coordinator, Ariel Carver at arielrose.carver@gmail..com. For more information or to sign up online, go to Birth Circle Programs.
We are in need of donations for the Birth Circle’s Prepared Mommy Camp! Our camp will run throughout the year, but we do have storage for non-perishable donations. We can arrange to meet or drop off in Athens. I would also be grateful for any recommendations for local businesses or organizations (or larger companies you have successfully solicited donations from) I should contact that might be interested in donating. Each year, our local community has generously donated much-needed items to this free program. We are expecting up to 10 young moms each session and would be grateful for any number of items you can offer.
– We are in need of new products related to pregnancy, nursing, postpartum and/or newborns (clothes, furniture, slings, diapers, nursing bras, prenatal vitamins, books, etc.). We are able to accept books in good used condition as well but are not able to accept other items used at this time. Each participant will be given a gift certificate for our annual yard sale in August, so consider donating used items through that program. Contact athensbirthcircle@gmail.com for donations.
– We are in need of snacks and breakfast items to have available during camp and local restaurants to sponsor a workshop by providing lunch. Please contact Katie Pearce to coordinate food donations katie2pearce@gmail.com.
– If you would like to volunteer your time, we are looking for help transporting participants to and from camp and volunteers to pick-up meals from local restaurants and deliver them to camp. We also are always open to other Mamas who want to come for a few hours just to hang out and build community. Contact athensbirthcircle@gmail.com to volunteer.
– If you offer pregnancy or baby-related goods or services (photography, art, clothing, etc.), we are looking for donations to be used as prizes for the women at the end of each session.
The Birth Circle is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization. We would be happy to send you an in-kind donation form for your taxes.
