October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness month. This month The Birth Circle will be working to bring extra love to those families who have suffered in this way.

Morning Glories on my morning walk
Fading just when they have begun to bloom
Exuberant yet fragile beauty
Morning Glories
Mourning glory
Mourning the could-have-beens
The shadows between
For the brother I almost had
For the random gene mutation that meant she only got to hold her baby for an hour
For the five babies she loved before she got to hold one
For the life threatening ectopic pregnancy misdiagnosed as a “normal” miscarriage
For the ones born still
For the ones who stop breathing
For the ones who go on feeling empty and incomplete
For the weight that never quite fades
We mourn the Life, the Hope, the Wholeness lost

October Meeting: Honoring the International Wave of Light
Thursday October 15 7pm-8pm

This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom

Bereaved parents, grandparents, friends of those suffering, anyone… each is invited to link hearts across the globe by lighting a candle at 7pm local time to honor all babies gone too soon. Keep your candle burning for at least one hour to create a continuous “wave of light” across all time zones covering the entire globe!

Those in EST zone, please come together with us through Zoom to collectively participate in this International Wave of Light.

Due to COVID-19, this will take the place of our usual Birth Circle Pregnancy and Infant Loss Ceremony.  Various members will have meaningful readings to share, and we invite you to light a candle on your end of the camera, or use a photo of a lit candle as your profile image in place of your camera view. All are welcome to share a sentiment but quietly sharing in the moment is honored as well.
